I’m a writer and director who loves to make offbeat, entertaining work about social issues and communities.
My debut feature film EMO the musical premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival, played at the Berlinale, and has screened on Netflix and Stan. My shorts have screened locally and internationally at festivals from Edinburgh to Palm Springs.
My education and community work has been with youth, rural residents, migrants, and queer communities, across both film and theatre projects, mostly in Melbourne. I teach Feature Film for RMIT’s Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting.
I have worked in development at Tony Ayres Productions, and currently have projects in development with Sweetshop and Green, Big and Little Films, and Sue Clothier of Polaris pictures.
I am always happy to chat about projects or opportunities that have something to say about the world and utilise my skills in writing, directing, and community arts work. Reach out at Triffett.neil8@gmail.com.
